"The Amazing Book of Mazes" reviewed.

THE AMAZING BOOK OF MAZES ; Adrian Fisher.

So what’s the next big idea in your garden?  You’ve created a great perennial border, a prize-winning rose garden, even a rock garden to brighten your spring.  You may be talented and creative, but your garden still is going to look much like your neighbor’s.  Why not amaze your friends with a maze!

Mazes are a different challenge, a whole new world of horticulture (and not always limited to things that grow).  They come in almost as many varieties as orchids – hedges of course, but also panels, mirror mazes, even vertical mazes.  They can be two-dimensional, with bridges and underpasses, even three-dimensional in
Adrian Fisher’s new book The Amazing World of Mazes.

Mr. Fisher, the pre-eminent designer of mazes, has created hundreds of mazes around the world – 30 countries so far.  He holds several Guinness World Records for extending the boundaries of maze length and area.

Do you like puzzles?  You will love mazes and will wander happily through this book, which takes you on a dizzying journey of increasing dimension and complexity.  Enter the twisting, turning, engaging path at any point, and try to solve the puzzle.

The Amazing World of Mazes
can of course be enjoyed simply as a book.  Not everyone has the space or inclination to create a maze.  But what a book!  It is filled with photographs of great mazes, plot diagrams, maze stories, explanations of different maze types – and labyrinths for contemplation.  Mazes where you must jump, mazes that go one way only, triangular and hexagonal mazes, culminating with Mr. Fisher’s Ultimate 3D Maze Challenge.  Plus a glossary, a list of record-breaking mazes, a list of the world’s best mazes, and a reading and resource list.
The only thing missing is a sure-fire way to solve the puzzle – or put this book down.
