It provides a distributed database across the network, allowing each station to function independently in the event of a network failure. Turnstile admission is controlled by bar coded or magnetic stripe-readers connected to the live ticket database, providing real-time statistics for pass usage, in-park counts, ticket usage reporting, and validation of limited admission tickets.
