TURN ON UNITED TECHNOLOGIES
"Providing state-of-the-art solutions implies using only highly sophisticated systems integrated with determination and know-how," Technical Director and General Manager Christian Hofer says. "This commitment is guaranteed by KRAFTWERK," he adds. The comprehensive know how on technologies (audio, video, lighting, media control, special effects) as well as the swift implementation of innovations assure the development of unique
solutions.
- High-end projection systems: KRAFTWERK solves the most complex 2D and 3D challenges by using a wide array of technologies such as sophisticated auto alignment for multiple projector systems, pixel-by-pixel synchronisation and unique, in-house developed playback servers.
- State-of-the-art audio systems: Even if sight is our primary sense - the best projection is only mean without a perfect audio system. For example, the sound system at 'TurtleTrek’ includes 22 discrete audio channels and is rated at an amazing 32,000 watts. This allows for 3D sound and pinpoint placement of audio effects and provides a perfect acoustic experience.
- Innovative lighting designs: KRAFTWERK combines stage lighting technologies and architectural lighting equipment to design tailor-made solutions. The main goal is to illuminate an environment at the highest quality while guaranteeing user-friendly operation and simplified maintenance.
- Stunning special effects: KRAFTWERK knows how to get senses involved. Adding special effects create emotions and generate a lasting experience. There are no limits – and nothing is impossible.
- User friendly control systems: Reliable tailor-made or standardized control systems allowing to control everything through a single device complete a KRAFTWERK turnkey solution.
TURN ON MEDIA-BASED ATTRACTIONS
Thanks to the development of digital high-performance projectors providing enormous light output it has become possible to display ultra HighRes images in 2D and 3D to all kinds of screens. Together with the integration of state-of-the-art playback servers and sophisticated automatic alignment systems these technical capabilities enable experiences at the highest level. Spectacular applications blurring the line between reality and fiction can be implemented for any kind of demand. The result are incredible attractions like the recently opened 'TurtleTrek’ 360° 3D Dome at SeaWorld Orlando. The projection system of this firstof-its-kind attraction features 34 high-performance projectors which have a combined total of 368,800 lumens of light output. To ensure perfect projection quality anytime for this highly complex multiple projector setup KRAFTWERK integrated a state-of-the-art automatic alignment system. Further examples for high-end projection systems include'The Bubble’ and the 'House of Dancing Water’ at City of Dreams in Macau, MANTA’s launch tunnel at SeaWorld San Diego, the Virtual Aquarium at City of Dreams in Macau as well as Aviation Pavilion, Austria Pavilion and Shanghai Pavilion at the Expo Shanghai 2010.
TURN ON UNITED DIMENSIONS
In 2005 KRAFTWERK built its first 4D theatre. Since then, nearly 100 4D theatres with up to 342 seats have been realized worldwide. These include for example 'Ice Age The 4D Attraction’ at Alton Towers Resort, the Blackpool Tower 4D Attraction, the 'Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience’ at Madame Tussauds in London as well as numerous 4D theatres for 'Aida’ and 'Costa’ cruise ships. KRAFTWERK was also responsible for the development of the innovative seats of Futuroscope’s 'Arthur, the 4D Adventure’. Also in the 4D sector, KRAFTWERK unconditionally concurs to the highest quality. 4D theatres make KRAFTWERK provide high tech cinema technology including 3D HD projection, professional audio system, reliable and nearly maintenance-free pneumatic motion base as well as a state-of-the-art HD3D server featuring a movie licensing system for secured film files. The high-quality 4D seats feature 3 'Dimensions of Freedom’ (DOF) real analog movement and a lot of special effects including water spray, face blast, vibration, leg tickler and neck blast. A wide variety of ambient special effects can be added to every 4D theatre. Strobes, lasers, fog, wind, rain, scent, fire and many more make attractions exciting and bring them to life. However, the main focus is on safe water effects. Using reverse-osmosis systems, UV treatment and – if necessary – heat sanitation ensure no bacteria can occur in the system.
TURN ON THE SPLASH
KRAFTWERK’S latest development is the 'Waterplexx5D’ theatre. The company’s long-term experience in the 4D sector is the basis for this unique attraction. The seats as well as the motion base have been enhanced for the operation in totally wet environments. Generally, the 'Waterplexx 5D’ theatre works like a conventional 4D theatre. But Visitors will be thankful to wear swimwear as the special effects especially involve a lot of water. Thanks to magic fountains, water guns, rain and flat water jets the water comes from everywhere – from the front, from the walls and from the ceiling. In cooperation with Polin, first-of-its-kind backlit wall and ceiling panels made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) have been developed. The moving seats and exciting additional special effects like strobes, LED lighting, wind, fog and lasers assure visitors getting directly immersed into the film turning each show into an unforgettable, wet and splashy adventure. The 'Waterplexx 5D’ theatre is the perfect attraction for waterparks which want to offer their guests an unique highlight.
