Fantasy Island is an amusement park located in Ingoldmells on the east coast of England which is near Skegness, one of the UK’s most famous beach resorts. Unlike many amusement parks, Fantasy Island operates a free admission policy whereby you just purchase “pay as you go” tokens to go on your individual choice of rides within the amusement park.
The amusement park has been designed to provide maximum appeal to people of all ages with roller coasters, “white knuckle” thrill rides and water rides as well as having several smaller rides for younger children. Mini Dodgems and the Jellikins Coaster are just two of the most popular kiddies’ rides at the amusement park whilst thrill seekers can enjoy the excitement of Absolutely Insane which is a 240 foot vertical attraction where you’re projected skywards at a speed of 40 mph.
Amazing Confusion is another popular ride at the amusement park which is the world’s first and only Mondial Ultra Max ride which opened in 2003. There’s also the Millennium Rollercoaster and the Log Flume water ride, which are two more of the most popular attractions at the amusement park.
Evenings are spectacular at this amusement park with the rides being enhanced with special effects and dazzling lighting displays and you can also take in a show in the evening at Scallywag’s Showbar, Woody’s Wine Bar or on the Lagoon Stage at the amusement park, so there’s fun for all the family.
Away from the rides, another great feature of this amusement park is the wide choice and large number of catering outlets on site, featuring a hot roast carvery from around the world and Chinese and Italian outlets as well as a Halal Kebab concession. There’s also a McDonalds and a great fish and chip shop called ‘The Friary’.
For adults in particular, another of the amusement park’s great appeals is that it lies adjacent to a massive outdoor and indoor market which has plenty of discount shopping and which is open 7 days a week - reputed to be one of the biggest in Europe.
