Scandia Family Fun Centre is an amusement park which is located in Sacramento in Northern California.

The Scandia company was founded back in 1977 by 3 Scandinavian families – the Madsen’s, Jensen’s and Larson’s and it has always been their joint philosophy not only to provide good, wholesome family fun in their amusement parks but also to raise millions of dollars to support philanthropic activities and good causes. These have included supporting Christian missionaries and helping to set up orphanages in Mexico.

The amusement park is set in beautifully maintained grounds and features two award winning 18 hole miniature golf courses that weave their way through streams, ponds, fountains and well manicured lawns. There is an international ‘flavour’ that has been carefully incorporated into the design of these golf courses at the amusement park with obstacles that are hand-made replicas of specific buildings which are located all over the world. The centrepiece obstacles are the towering windmill which stands proud over the east course and the Scandinavian castle which is located in the middle of the amusement park.

As well as miniature golf, you can also practice your baseball skills in the batting cages at the amusement park with both hardball and softball pitching which offer a variety of speeds to suit your level of expertise. 

There is a racetrack called the Stockholm Raceway at the amusement park and the Baltic Sea Bumper Boats are a fun (and wet) alternative to the traditional bumper cars.

The amusement park’s thrill ride is the Scandia Screamer which is a 65 mph, adrenalin pumping ride with just over 3G force.
You can also enjoy both classic favourites and the latest hi-tech computerised games at the amusement park’s Grand Arcade which will keep the kids occupied, especially ideal on a rainy day.

The amusement park’s snack bar caters for all tastes and also caters for children’s birthday parties.

Although one of the smaller amusement parks in California, Scandia Family Fun Centre has remained popular over the years and although the one here in Sacramento was the first one to open, there are 3 other Scandia Family Fun Centre amusement parks in California at Victorville, Ontario and Fairfax and you’ll even find one in Las Vegas.
