The world’s first Angry Birds Land will open its doors this summer at Särkänniemi Adventure Park, Finland and is expected to prove extremely popular with guests, especially families with younger children.
Angry Bird’s Land will be located in the rides area and has 12 rides, an adventure course and eating areas. Two new rides have also been introduced into the themed area, Angry Birds Ride and Majakka (Lighthouse).

Angry Birds Land is based on the phenomenally successful mobile game Angry Birds, which was created by Finland’s Rovia, making it only fitting that the first Angry Birds Land should be located in the country.
The new attraction was designed in collaboration with the gaming company as well as Särkänniemi’s staff and US theme park designers BDR Design. The new season kicks off on 1st May and summer programs have been added, as well as novelties in the Planetarium, Aquarium and Children’s Zoo.
The new rides were constructed by Italy’s Antonio Zamperla S.p.A and are suitable for both children and adults and the Angry Birds Adventure Course was designed by Lappset Group Oy from Rovaniemi. The themed area will also include a shop and food points, all carrying on the central Angry Birds theme.
Over the course of the summer, ‘Magic Place’ will be added and this will give out new content for the Angry Birds game to visitors, as well as ‘feature points’ where it’s possible to play the game and perhaps even meet Red Bird.
”The opening of Angry Birds Land in Särkänniemi is a really big deal for us”, says managing director Miikka Seppälä.
”The theme, design and execution of the area are internationally renowned, so we welcome everyone to Särkänniemi’s Angry Birds Land with pride. The area is definitely a must see destination for millions of players; but also a great experience for those, who are not yet familiar with the theme”.
Whilst Angry Birds Land will open at the start of the season, finishing touches will be added until it celebrates its official opening on Friday June 8th

Särkänniemi was voted the best leisure centre in the country for 2011 by Taloustutkimus, thanks to its diversity and novelty offerings. All of the Adventure Park’s areas will feature novelties in the new season, such as the bottlenose dolphins performing all new tricks in the Dolphinarium and ”Tähtien salatut elämät”, a full dome movie, will play in the Planetarium.
There will also be staged programs which have been added for the season and are free of charge for visitors to the attraction. Last summer, the park began ‘experimenting’ with opening times and will continue this to open daily from 10am to 8pm in high season. This is especially important to families with small children, according to managing director Seppälä.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from 671 selected Finnish outlets, which have been further expanded this season to include Valintatalo and Euromarket stores; tickets bought in advance will be cheaper than those purchased on the day.
”We want to offer our clients the possibility to buy tickets cheaper in advance, so that their day of fun could start as nicely as possible. Buying online is popular, but if you want you can buy tickets from your corner store”, Tiina Mörttinen, director in charge of ticket sales, says.
"The demand for various kinds of hotel deals has also risen and there are several Särkänniemi packages that include accommodation”.
The Särkänniemi season will open on May 1st and will host the popular May Day family event featuring special attractions such as magicians and the Vihreät Valot ensemble from the TV show Uusi Päivä.

Sat. April 28 from 11am to 6pm
Sun. April 29 rides closed
Mon. April 30 rides closed
Tues. May 1 from 11 am to 7pm
Adventure Park will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 6 pm from May 2nd to May 18th, starting May 19th the park will be open daily. Children´s Zoo will open on 19th of May.
