Adrian and Marie Fisher have set up a new company, Adrian Fisher Design Ltd, to provide a personal and attentive service covering Custom Design and Consultancy across a wider range of activities: landscape mazes, mirror mazes, puzzles (in print and electronically), landscape and garden design, mathematics, public art, urban planning and broadcasting.
Named by The Guardian newspaper as one of Britain's top 50 designers, Adrian Fisher is an international garden design Gold Medallist, and has created 500 full-size mazes across 30 countries, including 25 mirror mazes. Over 29 years, he has become internationally recognised as the world’s leading maze designer.
Adrian Fisher installed the "Lost City of Atlantis" mirror maze at the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, England, featuring custom-designed gigantic statuary, numerous fish tanks and a wily octopus (who was caught out on CCTV as being the nocturnal culprit breaking out at night and eating baby sharks in a nearby tank!).
“On the landscape side, we are working closely with Jamie and Dorinda Forbes of Down-to-Earth Partners Ltd, who have just created an exhibition garden at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in England, and won a Silver Medal,” said Marie Fisher.
Adrian has also written a dozen books on mazes and garden design, most notably “The Amazing Book of Mazes”.
Current design projects include a hedge maze in North America, a weekly "Mandali" puzzle in the BBC’s Radio Times magazine to accompany Adrian’s daily “Navigati” puzzle in the Daily Mail, a decorative paving scheme in Kent using Adrian’s patented Mitre Pavers, and cornfield maize mazes from as far apart as Massachusetts to Denmark. Adrian is also writing a novel, set in Wessex, England; predictably, its plot is ingenious and intricate!
