Company recognized with Impact and Best New Product Awards
On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) honored S&S Worldwide, Inc. with two major international awards. S&S received the industry's “Impact Award” for its lasting impact in the industry, as well as the “Best New Product Award” for its revolutionary Free Fly roller coaster concept.
The Impact Award is the Association's premier honor, which is awarded to the supplier that had the most positive impact on the attractions industry in 2009. Best New Product Awards are based on benefits to the buyer, originality and uniqueness of the product, and quality of design and construction.
Kevin Rohwer, VP of Sales and Marketing, said of the awards, “It is truly an honor. We always knew we had something special with Free Fly. We are excited that this new coaster is receiving the recognition it deserves. It will be innovations like these that define the future of S&S Worldwide.”
Free Fly was installed earlier this year at Skara Sommarland in Sweden. It is the world's first air-suspension coaster and features 360° longitudinally spinning cars suspended from the outside of the vehicle to delight riders with an exhilarating feeling of flight. The unique suspension system operates independently from the coaster's orientation and allows passengers to remain upright at all times.
