Thorburn Associates Inc. (TA) an acoustical and audiovisual engineering firm with locations in California and North Carolina, announced the promotion of Derek Meares to Associate Principal in the company's Raleigh-Durham, NC office.
Initially joining TA in August 2000 as a Senior Consultant, Meares quickly made himself a valuable member of the company. In addition to having a rich background in audiovisual design and system engineering, he demonstrated talent in the areas of management and customer service.

Prior to becoming Associate Principal, Derek was a Senior Consultant for TA, providing his more than 20 years of technology design experience to a variety of key projects, including the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Pharmacy (as lead designer), the HP Executive Briefing Center in Cupertino, CA (as systems designer), and the UNC-Wilmington School of Education (as project manager).
