Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast was formally opened at Six Flags, St Louis and celebrated its first official ride with St Louis Cardinal and World Series MVP David Freese in attendance.

They were joined by eighteen members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of St Louis for the launch of the popular updated thrill ride which sends riding hurtling backwards through a 190 foot tunnel, before being flung into a 180 degree inversion. Riders then climb over 200 feet towards the sky where they remain suspended, dangling in the air, before the exciting, breath-taking ride has them do it all over again.
“I have been coming to Six Flags since I was a kid and the roller coasters have always been my favourite,” said Freese. “I was really excited to ride Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast. The backwards launch and experience of going up the tower facing straight down is a real rush.”
Returning visitors will be entranced by the enhancements made to the ride, which include new logos on the cars, an updated entrance portal and new graphics on the tunnel. Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast will also be appearing at the Texas Six Flags and will open on May 12th, whilst the St Louis version opens to the public on May 5th.
Both rides will retain the original Mr Freeze theme, which was originally patterned after the DC Comics Batman nemesis. Before going on to t
he 20 passenger cars, visitors take a chilly stroll through ‘Snowy Cones’, designed to resemble an abandoned ice cream warehouse, but is secretly the preferred hide-out of this “Villain of Chillin’ where Mr Freeze plots his iciest revenge.
Arriving at the cars, guests are then taken on a thrilling, chilling reverse ride covering almost 1500 feet of track at exhilarating speeds of up to 70 mph, making Mr Freeze: Reverse Blast the fastest reverse roller coaster ride in both Missouri and Texas.
