Ocean Park and 7-Eleven recently joined forces in order to bring Hong Kong’s first electronic ticketing system to the city for the attraction; Ocean Park admission tickets will now be available for purchase in over 900 7-Eleven outlets throughout Hong Kong. The new system, alongside the launch of new attraction areas and promotional offers, is expected to boost attendance figures to another all-time high and forecasts estimate this at 10% growth on last year.

The electronic ticketing system has the advantage of being instant, meaning that long queues at the park should now be a thing of the past. All adult day tickets (HK$280) and child day tickets (HK$140) will be available at the 7-Eleven outlets and will be valid for a minimum period of one month. On arrival at Ocean Park, guests will simply be required to present their pre-paid electronic ticket by scanning in the barcode at the main entrance turnstiles for instant access to the park.
In celebration of the new system, Ocean Park are also giving away an in-park F&B cash coupon worth up to HK$100 to those who buy an electronic ticket between now until 31st May. Restaurant guests are also entitled to a free drink on Mother’s or Father’s Day, bringing the total value of the offers to HK$140, equivalent to a 50% discount on admission.
Mr. Tim Chalk, Chief Executive Officer of 7-Eleven Hong Kong and Macau, said: “7-Eleven Hong Kong benefits from the largest retail network in town, and continues to provide fast and convenient services to its customers.”
“This collaboration with Ocean Park represents a new breakthrough for us. Making use of our extensive network and new technology, we hope to expand this electronic ticketing service to 7-Eleven Macau to offer the same high standard of services to our customers there.”
He went on to explain that Ocean Park would continue to “study the viability” of the new ticketing system with a view to bring the “7-Connect Service Platform” to Hong Kong’s residents, further introducing the culture of convenience stores to customers.
Ocean Park has seen record-breaking attendance figures every month over the past year, mostly because of all the new attractions they have launched in the past six months. These include the Thrill Mountain, Old Hong Kong and Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures.
For the upcoming high summer season of July and August, it’s thought that they will launch the final “major milestone of the Master Adventure” as well as the annual Summer Splash offerings. This, along with the convenient new electronic ticketing system, is expected to boost attendance by 10% compared to last year.
