Six Flags Great Adventure, America’s largest regional theme park, has announced the introduction of a new attraction, King Cobra, which will open at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in summer 2012.

King Cobra is an extreme racing waterslide experience and will be the first of its kind in the US. The attraction is an adrenaline-drenched, thrilling slide-tower which enables two tubes to race through a circular path. The twisting, meandering tubes of King Cobra have both open and closed sections and riders can reach speeds of up to 32 miles per hour.
The attraction is set to be not only one of the most extreme water rides at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, but also one of the most visually attractive. King Cobra is designed to resemble a giant version of the snake it is named for; both interior and exterior features bold orange, black and yellow scales.
At the bottom of the slide is the huge mouth of the King Cobra, where spectators can enjoy the experience of watching their thrill-seeking friends plunging into the mouth of the snake from 25 feet up at a 50-degree angle.
The new, unique ride was manufactured by Turkey-based company Polin, world leaders in the design, manufacture and installation of waterparks and waterslides around the globe. Polin have created thrilling water park attractions in 80 countries over the last 35 years, but King Cobra is their first major US installation.

The new attraction is 50 feet tall and features other effects such as fog, hissing and water-spraying and has already proved a hit in the two world locations in which it has already been installed.
“After the first installation it is evident that King Cobra is one of the best attractions in the entire industry,” say Polin.
Baki Kayan, owner of Maxx Royal Holiday Resort where the King Cobra was first installed said: “This has created a lot of excitement in the industry.”
