Rainbow Productions: Family Festivals with performances from TV Costume Characters

Summer 2011 has seen a number of family festivals taking place across the UK, with many line-ups also featuring stage performances and personal appearances by stars from the world of children’s television.
Camp Bestival, the baby sister festival to Bestival, took place from July 29th – 31st in the grounds of Lulworth Castle in Dorset and drew a crowd of 30,000 parents and children.
All three days of Camp Bestival saw performances on the main outdoor Castle Stage by the BBC Worldwide’s band of primates, the Zingzillas [pictured]. Peppa Pig also made personal appearances in the Lower Kid’s Garden on July 29th, arranged by Penguin Books to complement their story-time sessions at Camp Bestival.
The ZingZillas kicked off their festival tour in the Kidz Field at Glastonbury and also performed at LolliBop in Regent’s Park from August 5th – 7th. The August Bank Holiday weekend will also see Zak, Tang, Panzee and Drum perform in front of family audiences at A Jolly Day Out, which takes place at Hampton Court Green from August 26th – 29th.
Festival-goers at Glastonbury also had an opportunity to see Rastamouse, Scratchy and Zoomer from The Easy Crew make their live debut. This trio also took to the stage at LolliBop.
Other famous children’s characters meeting and greeting fans at festivals this summer include Angelina Ballerina, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat® and Jess the Cat, Fifi Forget-Me-Not and friends, Roary the Racing Car, Waybuloo’s Piplings and Ben and Holly from Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.
