SCS Interactive’s First Ever Watercolors Expansion Takes Place at the Republic Aquatic Center

SCS Interactive collaborated with Republic, Missouri’s Aquatic Center to expand the existing SCS WaterColors™ play structure. This expansion is the first of its kind and brings an added element of interactivity and fun to this municipal aquatic center.

“The WaterColors product was developed for the very reasons that the City of Republic used.  The initial construction budget did not allow for the City to have more than one level of play, but due to WaterColors’ seamless expandability the City was able to add a new level of fun and create new excitement.  The City also used the modular flexibility of WaterColors; replacing an existing interactive on the first level with a completely different feature.” said Sean Barrett, director of municipal sales at SCS Interactive.

Republic’s Aquatic Center located in Republic, Missouri first added the SCS WaterColors attraction in 2005 and it has been well-loved and enjoyed. In August, 2007 the aquatic center decided to expand this waterplay attraction and make it a more central feature within the park. This expanded attraction debuted on Memorial Day weekend and was met with enthusiasm by children and parents alike.

The SCS WaterColors expansion was completed by park district personal with assistance from SCS Interactive.  It included adding on a second deck as well as a slide that is designed specifically for younger children. A swivel blaster, water buckets, silly spray and an umbrella jet were also added to the structure. With this expansion the structure can now entertain 40 guests and offer 75 more
square feet of soaking wet fun.

"We first decided to install the SCS WaterColors structure because of its expandability; it could grow as the park grew. Over the past few years

there have been many requests for a toddler area and by expanding our WaterColors structure we were able to meet the needs of the community as well as accomplish our goal of adding something new to the park. The SCS structure has always been enjoyed but now with the new addition it has brought heightened interactivity to our park.”  stated Jared Keeling, director of parks and recreation for Republic, Missouri.

About SCS WaterColors™

  • Seamless Expandability:  WaterColors is designed to give the unprecedented choice of installing in phases, as growth dictates and budget allows.  Each of the four successive play levels radiates from a central water feature, enabling rapid expansion without costly retrofitting.  Two or more structures may be linked to build the ultimate interactive attraction spanning any pool configuration.
  • Modular Flexibility:  All the interactive play components are interchangeable and modular to facilitate easy relocation, replacement and upgrades.  This is the first attraction that can be kept fresh and exciting without the cost of new equipment or modifications to the existing superstructure.
  • Easy Installation:  Just add water.  Each structure, no matter how large it grows, operates from a single water line in the central feature to eliminate typical plumbing concerns.  Plus, the attraction may be easily adjusted on-site to fit any sloped or multi-tiered pool configuration.
  • Interactive Play: Through research and refinement, WaterColors promotes the industry’s highest degree of interactivity to stimulate a chain-reaction of teamwork, discovery and fun.  The interchangeable components also have all new interactive features that bring waterplay to a higher level of enjoyment.
