Thorburn Associates, Inc. announced that two valued staff members, Lance Sturdevant and Davis Keith, have earned the prestigious Certified Technology Specialist - Designer (CTS-D) designation from InfoComm, the industry association for AV professionals. Thorburn Associates Inc. (TA) is an acoustic and technology system design and engineering firm with offices in northern and southern California and in North Carolina.
Lance Sturdevant, senior audiovisual consultant, joined TA in December, bringing with him more than 27 years of audiovisual experience. Davis Keith, audiovisual consultant joined the company in 2006. Both team members provide consulting and engineering services for TA clients, and the CTS-D certification secures their standing as industry professionals and accomplished audiovisual designers.

InfoComm’s CTS-D certification is an advanced designation that builds upon the association’s standard CTS certificate with extensive training and testing, resulting in a Designer status. The program requires three weeks of on-site training, a prior CTS certification, two additional years of work experience and
completion of a three-part test that includes oral and written exams along with a design practicum. The CTS-D certification distinguishes designers (and companies) that maintain advanced knowledge of the latest AV technologies and industry standards. CTS-D specialists are skilled in analyzing, selecting and designing seamless audiovisual communications equipment interoperation.
