Brunswick Bowling & Billiards is pleased to announce that it has recently completed the first Virtual Bowling installation in the United Kingdom at Vi Bowl Lounge on Canvey Island, Essex.
Vi Bowl is located inside Starr Snooker on Canvey Island, and located near the owners’ MovieStarr Cineplex movie theater. After thorough demographic research and evaluation of the area, owners, Alpha Leisure Group, determined the Starr Snooker Canvey Island seafront location was ideal to add four lanes of Virtual Bowling to enhance its existing business offering of snooker tables and two full-service bars.
During the VIP opening held last summer, Canvey Island’s County councilor, Ray Howard, complimented Alpha Leisure Group for providing a fun, sporting activity to the community and said, “(that he was) absolutely amazed at this fantastic and futuristic facility, which could only be a major success.”
Virtual Bowling was installed with comfortable sofa-style seating and tables, allowing customers to enjoy food and beverage offerings while participating in the game.
Virtual Bowling is the only attraction of its kind, combining the popularity of bowling with today’s high-tech video and simulation games. Virtual Bowling offers bowling in five fun themes as well as Target Challenge™ – a take-off on popular arcade games. Complete with realistic sounds, bowlers roll an actual bowling ball down a shortened lane, where sensors detect the speed and direction of the ball as it enters the virtual world. The results of the throw are then “replicated” in the virtual universe, offering the thrill of bowling with less than half of the space usually required. The lanes at Vi Bowl Lounge are outfitted to support regulation bowling balls, offering players the most high-tech, fun bowling experience possible.
Vi Bowl caters to singles and couples, as well as groups looking to host corporate parties and birthday parties for children seven years and older.
