dan pearlman, a strategic creative agency, have created a South American Hacienda at Cologne Zoo.

In just six months from planning to completion, a Mexican style bistro with pergola has been created where guests can enjoy a meal with a perfect view of the tapirs and capybaras. A walk around the Hacienda offers encounters with the anteaters and okapis.
The Hacienda is an explosion of colour, covering 400 square meters and providing seating for 30 people.
To give an authentic feel, dan pearlman used old lamps, photos, wallcoverings and even a straw hat. A wooden construction, the building has been plastered and painted in red, yellow, blue and orange. Even the tapir house has been given a makeover to match.
An old sycamore in the courtyard, and a cottonwood tree have been carefully preserved. Together with the planting of flowers and vines they provide a calm and colourful atmosphere for guests to relax.
