How to Make a Pop Up Museum

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74957042

We’ve all got fascinating things, but not everyone gets to show them off in a museum. Thanks to the Pop Up Museum, that’s all about to change…

A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibit created by the people who show up to participate. It works by choosing a theme and venue and then inviting people to bring an object on-topic to share. Participants write a label for their object and leave it on display. A Pop Up Museum usually lasts a few hours. It can happen anytime, anywhere, and with any community.
With the support of the James Irvine Foundation, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History is spreading Pop Up Museums throughout Santa Cruz County in partnership with community organizations, businesses, artists, and schools. We also offer a free How to Make a Pop Up Museum kit so that you can host your own Pop Up Museum anywhere, anytime.
