Chessington World of Adventures Resortis planning to open a new indoor water park, with a public consultation launching on 16 November.
Part of Merlin, Chessington is inviting people to see the "emerging proposals" for its new "exciting indoor water park attraction" in a public exhibition on 16 November.
The plans will be on view from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and 5pm to 8pm in the Serengeti Conference Suite at the resort's Safari Hotel.
After this, a public consultation website including an online survey will launch here. Until then, information about the project is seemingly under wraps.
However, Chessington has unveiled the world’s first Jumanji-themed land, set to open in spring 2023. The £17 million ‘World of Jumanji’ attraction is a collaboration with Sony Pictures.
It will feature aroller coasterthat wraps around an enormous ‘Jaguar Shrine’ structure situated in overgrown jungles.
"What could be more exciting than bringing the global hitJumanji film franchiseto life within the single largest development Chessington has ever seen," saidTim Harrison-Jones, divisional director at Chessington.
As part of its partnership with Sony Pictures, Merlin plans to open Jumanji-themed rides, lands and hotel rooms at its theme parks and water parks around the world.

Elsewhere, Alton Towershas closed its famous Nemesis roller coaster for a major revamp, and Thorpe Park’s plans to build anew coaster have been approved.
Consultancy firm Lichfields said in aplanning statement: “The redevelopment will refresh the ride offer in this part of the resort and will deliverThorpe ParkResort’s first roller coaster since The Swarm in 2012.
Earlier this year, Chessington opened a new land called Shipwreck Coast, described as a “disaster-ridden harbour town”. In 2021, the park opened a newdrop tower ridenamed Croc Drop.
